Cookies on Poki
Tracking cookies are never placed by Poki. What does get stored in your browser is the local storage each game depends on to keep your settings, progress or high score. That information stays on your device, and we send it nowhere.
Cookies inside game frames
Plenty of games here are embedded from servers their own developers operate. Those games, along with the ad partner displaying ads within them, may place cookies or comparable storage inside the game frame. Such cookies sit outside our control. They keep the game running, remember your session and deliver ads.
How consent works
Consent is given the moment you start a game. Pressing play after loading a game page means you accept whatever cookies the game and its ad partner may set. If that is not for you, simply leave the game unstarted. Browsing the catalog without opening a game does not cause any of those cookies to be placed.
Blocking or deleting cookies
Managing cookies is done through your browser settings. Each major browser gives you these options:
- View stored cookies and remove them individually or all together.
- Block third-party cookies, which covers most of what embedded games set.
- Make the browser clear cookies and site data each time it closes.
- Browse in a private or incognito window so nothing remains after you close the tab.
Some games may stop working if cookies are blocked. Should a game fail to load or your progress vanish, allow cookies for that page and try again.
Local storage for progress
A game saving your level, coins or settings typically writes to local storage in your browser. Deleting site data erases those saves. To keep a run, avoid clearing storage for the site until you have finished with it.
